Oak Grove School is a historic two-room Rosenwald School, erected in 1925 to serve the local African-American population. Built with funding from the Julius Rosenwald School Building Fund program, its design is attributed to Samuel Smith of Tuskegee Institute. The school cost $3,000, with African-Americans contributing $1,400, the State of Alabama providing $900, and the Rosenwald Fund donating $700. Operating until 1968, the building now functions as a community heritage center.
